Mark Rippy's Philosophy
Many golfers operate under the misconception that achieving a perfect swing is the sole key to lowering their scores. However, I view this as merely a starting point. Central to my teaching philosophy is the understanding that effective golf scoring hinges on mastering essential skills across all aspects of the game. For a golfer to improve their driving, it’s crucial to first grasp the pre-swing fundamentals: grip, stance, posture, and alignment. Additionally, they must become proficient with shorter clubs before expecting to see advancements with their longer clubs. Regardless of how precise a golfer's ball striking may be, they will inevitably still have miss hits. Understanding those misses is a crucial element to managing your round.
When I start working with a new student, my primary objective is to identify the key skills that is impeding their progress. Once that is determined, I guide them through a skill building process, beginning with the foundational elements. I ensure that their development progresses through every phase of the game. My teaching approach is rooted in a philosophy of real learning. I do not believe in quick fixes or temporary solutions. While they may assist in navigating a challenging round, they do little beyond that to help you improve.
